Guardian has an immediate need for a Maintenance Assistant to join our experienced and committed team at Discovery Point! Discovery Point is a conventional apartment community in Mesa, AZ with 183 units. We are seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Maintenance Assistant to support in the required cleaning and minor property maintenance necessary to maintain curb appeal and the overall appearance and quality of the property. A Maintenance Assistant’s primary role is to assist and support in the required cleaning and minor property maintenance necessary to maintain curb appeal and the overall appearance and quality of the property/ies listed above. This will include processing work orders as assigned by the Community Manager/s and/or Maintenance Lead/Supervisor/s which may include routine maintenance of property/ies and apartment units. This position is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance work is done in compliance with OSHA regulations and Guardian policies and procedures. Specific roles and responsibilities include: • Experience installing backflows to existing irrigation systems. • Troubleshoot and Repair irrigation mainlines, valves, sprinkler heads, etc. Including digging, trenching etc. • Install new irrigation systems from start to finish, when needed. • Adjust and program various timers & clocks. • Recognize drainage deficiencies and problematic soils and provide solutions. • Properly mark and rope off any open holes or hazards to protect tenants from getting hurt. • Use required personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job. • Consistently provide excellent workmanship to avoid warranty issues. • Properly clean up all site work and make sure all equipment is removed from the site. • Solid knowledge of trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, ditchers and pipe sizing are also essential. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. Familiar with software to read and create site maps, colored charts/legends is a plus.
