POSITION SUMMARY The Production Lead works alongside the Production Manager to oversee production activities in the Cabinet department. Ensuring tasks are completed on schedule, within budget, and with effective workforce utilization. This is a second shift position, the regular scheduled hours will be Monday through Friday, from 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. with mandatory overtime as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain workflow records and documentation as needed. Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly, following safety regulations. Assist with preparing work schedules and expediting workflow. Support improvements within the department to enhance cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Inspect work for accuracy, neatness, and adherence to policies and procedures. Provide feedback to management on standardizing procedures to improve worker efficiency. Model appropriate workplace behavior, helping management maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances; consult with Production/Operations Management and Human Resources as needed. Promote the company’s cultural values by providing training, sharing company updates, and encouraging positive thinking and growth among employees. Ensure Quality Control processes and verification check lists for cabinet and door production is followed by assigned employees. Support production employees in manufacturing processes as needed. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, understanding that this role requires flexibility to accommodate varying schedules. Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Consistent professional communication and demeanor; able to clearly communicate with both management and staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read a tape measure and apply basic math skills. Knowledge of various machines and tools used in production processes. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Knowledgeable about safety protocols and proactive in preventing accidents. Willingness and ability to work assigned schedule. Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Dock Lead to oversee shipping, receiving, and material handling operations in our doors and millwork distribution environment. This role is responsible for managing a bilingual team, ensuring all outbound and inbound materials are handled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company SOPs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment and understands the demands of both local deliveries and common carrier freight. Regular scheduled hours are Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. with mandatory overtime as needed. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision Lead and supervise a dock team responsible for loading, unloading, staging, and verifying doors, millwork, and related materials. Train, mentor, and develop dock staff to achieve performance, quality, and safety standards. Provide clear, bilingual (English/Spanish) communication to effectively manage a diverse workforce. Shipping & Receiving Operations Manage daily shipping volumes averaging 4 local trucks and 2–5 common carrier loads (53’ trailers, box trucks, or live loads). Coordinate both millworks put away, pulling, and loading to align with production and shipping schedules. Verify, sign off, and take full accountability for all outbound loads—ensuring accuracy, completeness, and readiness for shipment. Confirm that all materials are labeled correctly, damage-free, and meet customer specifications before leaving the facility. Cross-Department Collaboration Partner with Production, QC, and Warehouse teams to resolve material discrepancies before shipment. Maintain alignment with company chain-of-custody and tracking systems to support material accuracy and traceability. Safety & Compliance Enforce strict compliance with company SOPs for safety, quality, and documentation. Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock environment. Act as a role model for proper material handling and safety practices. Qualifications Required Bilingual: English/Spanish proficiency (verbal and written). 3+ years of leadership experience in dock, warehouse, or shipping/receiving within manufacturing, millwork, or distribution. Strong knowledge of shipping logistics (local deliveries and common carrier freight). Proven ability to manage a team, delegate effectively, and enforce accountability. High attention to detail with verification, labeling, and material handling. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, production-driven environment. Preferred Familiarity with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Experience with Agility ERP (a plus). Previous experience specifically in the door and millwork industry. Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $20–$24/hour Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.
