Click Here to Apply Forklift Operator Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Forklift Operator for a t-shirt company based on Clements Ferry in Charleston, SC. In this role, you will operate both powered and non-powered equipment to efficiently move materials throughout the warehouse.  Pay Rate  $18.75 to $19.75 per hour  Schedule and Hours  1st shift: 6:00 am until 2:00 pm, 6:30 am until 2:30 pm 2nd shift: 2:30 pm until 10:30 pm 3rd shift: 10:30 pm until 6:30 am Forklift Operator Duties and Responsibilities  • Operate various types of equipment, such as forklifts, walkies, reaches, pacers, crowns, clamps, high-reach trucks, and pallet jacks. • Perform pallet picks, case picks, pallet building, and load cases onto and off of conveyors. • Handle cases weighing over 50 lbs. consistently throughout the shift  • Ensure materials are moved and stored accurately according to operational guidelines. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.                                                                        Forklift Operator Qualifications and Requirements  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended period. • Comfortable lifting 50 lbs regularly • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team. • Prior experience operating forklifts, walkies, reaches, pacers, crowns, clamps, high-reach trucks, and pallet jacks.                                     • Must be reliable and punctual. Occasionally expected to weld other materials. • Troubleshoot the welding equipment. • Comply with health, safety, (including OSHA), and environmental procedures, and ensure the cleanliness of the area. • Comply with established production philosophies designed to increase production, safety and/or quality, e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 5s and TWI methodologies. • Continue to learn and expand one’s capacity within this job by increasing knowledge and skill base. • Perform various other assignments per Department Lead’s direction. • Other duties and related work may be assigned as necessary Show your expertise • Preferably a minimum of 1 year of experience performing GTAW or GMAW welding. • Strong GMAW, GTAW welding skills and a knowledge of how all the equipment operates. • Able to read and understand cut sheets and engineering prints thoroughly. • Knowledge of basic metallurgy and weld symbols • Able to speak and understand English, with a focus on following directions, adhering to basic shop safety procedures, and meeting production standards. • Knowledge of basic sheet metal layout. • Math skills include basic arithmetic and geometry. • Can accurately read a tape measure to 1/16" • Good communication and teamwork skills.
