Duties/Responsibilities: • Checks Customer Specification Sheet (CSS) to determine required assembly, exterior finish on product, and any special options. • Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks. • Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies. • May do one or more of these functions: solder; assembly of components into sets or sub-assemblies; crimping; electrical testing; pull-testing; stripping machines; • Perform functional testing to ensure assembled products meet quality standards • Reports other problems to line supervisor or quality control inspector for assistance. • Reporting of quantity and in process inspection on traveler as required. • Solder components with precision and care following safety procedures. • Safely lift and carry materials and finished products weighing up to 50 lbs. • Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies. • Follow all safety protocols and company policies. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Detail-oriented and consistent. • Previous experience in assembly, soldering and testing. • Ability to use soldering equipment and testing tools effectively. • Works well as a productive member of a team. • Experience in intricate hand assembly on paced assembly line depending on whether entry-level or more senior assembly position. • Knowledge of hand and automated tools; soldering irons and soldering tools. • Use of electrical meters; pc based automated electrical test equipment and high potential low amperage equipment, hand presses. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed. • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components. • Must wear gloves and eye protection when required. Batching Assistant Van Nuys, CA Full time Temp to hire Monday thru Friday - 6am to 2:30pm $19hr to $21hr depending on experience. A fast-growing company passionate about creating fresh, high-quality health and wellness beverages is seeking a motivated Batching Assistant to join their team in Van Nuys. Summary: Working as part of the Manufacturing & Operations team and under the supervision of the Chief Batching Officer, the Batching Assistant will operate equipment that blends raw materials to create food and beverage products by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients to client specifications. As needed, the Batching Assistant will also cross-train as a Production Support to operate and/or assist with production lines, including but not limited to the high-speed canning/beverage production line, the bottle filling production line, powder flavor-making production line, and labeling line to create, produce and package products while working on a team. Responsibilities: • Assist, provides support, and/or carries out: Precisely stages kits and verifies physical ingredients to match the ingredients on batch sheets according to the product recipes. • Collaborate with Quality Compliance Technician on the analytical results and makes modifications or adjustments to the batches when needed (i.e. Brix, Acid, pH, color). • Ensure resulting mixture meets specified consistencies and requirements; Report any urgent quality, food safety incidents, or deviations immediately to Chief Batching Officer or Quality team for investigation and resolution. • Accurately weighing or measuring all ingredients per formulation. • Accurately documents lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates on formulas per customer regulations. Quality • Perform set-up of batching area, including tools and equipment needed. • Perform physical inventory of materials before and after production and document • Communicate any ingredient availability or ingredient quality issues immediately to the Processing Supervisor. • Perform cleaning and sanitation of batching equipment and fillers (CIP’s, foaming equipment and hand brushing). • Properly clean and seal all ingredient containers prior to returning to the proper ingredient storage areas. • Adhere to all food safety policies and procedures. • Operate forklift to load/move various ingredients, following all safety procedures. • Maintain general housekeeping and quality in all areas of batching, production, and any additional areas. • Accurately completes inspection sheets based on overall product quality. • Provide status report during shift handoff (batches produced, quality and results of batching) • Must have proficient knowledge of the batching flow to production. • Report non-compliance and food safety issues to management. • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, must use appropriate means to accomplish this, using pallet jack and/or forklift, as necessary. • Ability to visually inspect products and materials. Qualifications: • A high school diploma or equivalent. • 1-2 years prior experience in batching in food and beverage industry. • Able to be physically active for the duration of the workday. • Forklift experience.
