Job Overview: The Plumber Apprentice Rover is responsible for general job site labor and assisting the Plumber Rover with plumbing repairs. The Plumber Apprentice Rover travels to each property location as needed. Proficiency with plumbing tools such as Hydro jet, sewer snake, and jackhammer. Abilities  Follow instructions, both verbal and written. Strong customer service skills. Equipment:  Must have a work vehicle (truck, van, or station wagon) and own hand tools. Education: High school diploma. Physical Requirements: Stair and Ladder Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs. Must be capable of walking the entire property, including steps and steep gangways on docks (if applicable) Requires regular bending, kneeling, and stooping. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds to handle materials and equipment safely. Driving: Must be able to drive. Your Responsibilities: Plumbing Assistance and Job Site Labor Perform general labor duties on job sites, including debris hauling and disposal. Assist the Plumber Rover in: Repairing or replacing cast iron, clay, ABS sewer lines (above and underground) Repairing or replacing storm drain lines and gas leaks Installing galvanized, copper, cast iron, and clay pipes Installing water heaters and wall heaters Maintain cleanliness and organization at work sites daily. Prepare materials for each job and ensure tools and materials are securely stored at day’s end to prevent safety risks. Pick up and transport supplies to job sites as needed. Safety and Hazard Reporting Attend monthly Safety Meetings and adhere to all company safety policies. Communicate any property conditions that may pose physical or liability hazards. Administrative Tasks Accurately complete and submit bi-weekly timesheets. Perform other duties as required. Perform other duties as required. Machines, Equipment, Tools Used: Telephones, Nextel, ladder, dolly, back belt, goggles, gloves, Hydro jet, sewer machine snake, jack hammer, torch, snap cutter, sawzaw, right angle drill, rotary hammer, and small hand tools such as hammer and screwdriver. If you are new to our world, here is a breakdown of the ABLE Day Program: Working hours are Tuesday- Friday, 7:30am-5ish. That’s right! No Mondays, no nights, no holidays, no weekends. Our Director creates a monthly calendar full of exciting, educational, and recreational outings. Clients choose what they would like to do, and Direct Support Professionals take them to do it. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are the driving force of our day program. DSPs drive ABLE vehicles to and from client’s homes and to outings. Outings include bowling, museums, yoga, libraries, dining at restaurants, crafting, and so much more! DSPs help clients navigate outings by assisting with social norms, money management, social skills, and help them to engage in activities. We are always looking for new places to explore and new skills to learn! The clients we service: Our clients include adults with Down Syndrome, Autism, CP, Seizure d/o etc. and they will fill your day with laughter! Our client’s range in age from 18-82. ABLE Day Program is a safe space for them to be themselves while providing opportunities to learn and grow. Our DSPs are a fun, inclusive, and supportive group of people coming from all walks of life and various industries. No experience needed. We provide training! The part that’s not all fun & games… DSPs are responsible for supporting clients that need assistance with daily living activities such as eating and using the restroom. We provide all training on how to assist clients in these areas. Q-mapped DSPs give medication, provide first aid, administer G-tube feedings, and document according to ABLE’s policies and procedures. DSP Requirements include: • Must be at least 21 years of age to drive/18 year+ welcome to apply • High School Diploma/GED • Must have a clean driving record and background check.
