We are a holistic dental practice in the Browns Point area of Tacoma/Federal Way in search of a friendly, motivated, outgoing, and dependable full time registered dental assistant for our Monday to Thursday schedule. Our practice consists of one doctor, two hygienists, one full time assistant, one sterilization tech, and two front office staff. We are a small and close-knit group who work well together. This position involves caring for children, working with patients of all ages, teaching the finer points of dental health, helping our dental hygienists, assisting for restorative dentistry, and helping just about everyone in the office in some way. Working hours would be from 7:15 am to 5:30 pm. We practice in a fragrance-free setting for the health of all staff and patients. He is nonverbal, gentle, and bright. He thrives on caring relationships and a joyful environment around him as a foundational element of any time spent with an aide. He understands everything, but has challenges due to poor motor skills, sensory regulation, fitness, and occasional pain and anxiety management. We are lately seeing a faster ability to acquire motor skills than ever before, and believe that this area holds the key to greater independence for him.  A typical day for him starts late (around noon) with low-key activities such as meals and gentle engagement, done predominantly while sitting in one place. As the day goes along, his energy and activity levels improve and may include short community outings, low-intensity exercises, and movement. With your help, we seek to add more engaging and skill-building motor-oriented activities into his daily routine in between his daily care responsibilities. This role combines traditional caregiving with opportunities to apply skills from occupational therapy, physical therapy, ABA, rehabilitation, or kinesiology. Nathan Bird Family Dentistry is seeking a top notch hygienist to join our friendly & hard-working team for 1-4 days per week for a maternity leave opening. The opening will be a 3 month position starting approximately March 2nd, 2026. This is a great opportunity to work in one of the most highly regarded dental practices in the area. Candidate's work experience is less of a concern than being passionate in educating our patients and helping them improve their oral health as well as confidence in co-diagnosing periodontal disease and oral pathology with the dentist. We are happy to offer training or help if the candidate is new to hygiene. One doctor, 2 hygienists, 3 assistants and 1 front office in total. We are a busy practice with active re-care patients scheduled 6 months in advance. Hygienists will not be asked to see more than one patient per hour.
