We are looking for a full time equipment operator. Operator would be required to perform equipment inspections, some maintenance and small repairs as needed. You may be asked to feed a mobile rock crusher with an excavator, run a loader, a trencher or a rock drill. Employee may be assigned other duties in addition to or in lieu of those described above and any duties are subject to change at any time according to the needs of customer projects or the company. Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers or falling objects. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Dig off a pile or in a trench. Move or haul dirt and rock. May be asked to run equipment such as a loader, haul truck, trencher, excavator or hydraulic rock hammer. Perform other related duties as assigned. We are seeking rock drillers to join our team. Experience preferred but not mandatory. By joining our team, we will work continually to balance your skill sets and passions that will contribute to the growth of our company. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum age 18. Preferred experience working as a rock drill operator. Valid driver’s license with a driving record that includes no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUIIs. Some travel is a required. We provide transportation and hotels. Because drillers occasionally assist with blasting operations, we submit candidates to a background check through the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restrictions. We will administer a pre-employment drug test and physical. For safety reasons, we have a zero-tolerance drug policy. Being able to read survey staking a plus. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Drilling rock using hydraulic drills on construction sites and rock quarry sites. Performing routine maintenance on drilling equipment. Being aware of, and alerting supervisor to the need for repairs and maintenance of equipment. Completes necessary equipment pre- and post-operation and inspections drill logs. Laying out design patterns. Occasionally assisting with blasting operations. Performing any or all other duties as necessary to satisfy job requirements. Pay depends on experience. Competitive pay.
