CNC Operator Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The CNC Operator will ensure that all operations are performed efficiently and safely while adhering to quality standards. Duties Set up and operate CNC machines according to specifications and production schedules. Machines used are HAAS 3 Axis Horizontal and Vertical Milling Machines. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining requirements. Program CNC machines using appropriate software and logic controllers. Conduct regular inspections of finished products using tools such as calipers and gauges to ensure precision. Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and resolve issues. Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and organization in the workspace. Fabricate parts as needed, following established protocols for tooling and machining. Skills Must be able to troubleshoot dimensional issues. Strong mechanical knowledge, including understanding of machine operations and tooling. Ability to handle materials effectively, ensuring safety and efficiency in the workspace. Experience in machining processes, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Attention to detail with a focus on quality control measures. Duties include: • Read and interpret Prints, Drawings, product documentation, and producing product meeting industry welding standards. • Use Measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers. • Verification of weld according to the customer specifications and the company’s workmanship standards. • Clean and maintain welding equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that equipment is in good working condition and all safety features/precautions are maintained. • Must have the ability to receive and maintain operator self-inspection stamp to meet quality expectations of Metal Works, Inc and the customer. • Notify Management and or Quality when corrective action is required. • Verify that Operation Steps indicated on the Job Traveler have been signed off prior to beginning job. • Complete job travelers, and ensure job paperwork follows parts through the manufacturing process. • Enter labor into manufacturing system via barcode prior to releasing product to the next operation. • Responsible for the quality and adequacy of own work. • Adherence to the Company’s Personnel Policies & Procedures. Knowledge/Skills Ability to follow instructions verbal and or written Maintains accurate and complete records. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for an 8-10 hour shift.
