Click Here to Apply Material Handler Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Material Handler for a t-shirt company based on Clements Ferry in Charleston, SC. In this role, you’ll play a key part in the supply chain process, ensuring the efficient movement, organization, and handling of inventory through the distribution center. Pay Rate $17.00 to $18.00 per hour Schedule and Hours 1st shift: 6:00 am until 2:00 pm, 6:30 am until 2:30 pm 2nd shift: 2:30 pm until 10:30 pm 3rd shift: 10:30 pm until 6:30 am Material Handler Duties and Responsibilities • Fold, tag, attach size strips, apply hangers, and repackage merchandise • Scan, label, restock, and build boxes for shipment. •Build pallets and unload cases from conveyors • Repackage cases and scan items for accurate tracking. • Place repackaged cases onto the conveyor system. Material Handler Qualifications and Requirements • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended period. • Comfortable lifting 50 lbs regularly • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team. • Prior warehouse or general labor experience is a plus but not required. • Must be reliable and punctual. Explore your tasks and responsibilities • Set up the work area, select and verify the material for production, and meet the daily welding production and quality demands of the Weld Shop. • Weld the following in different positions and on different gauges: stainless steel and black iron. Occasionally expected to weld other materials. • Troubleshoot the welding equipment. • Comply with health, safety, (including OSHA), and environmental procedures, and ensure the cleanliness of the area. • Comply with established production philosophies designed to increase production, safety and/or quality, e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 5s and TWI methodologies. • Continue to learn and expand one’s capacity within this job by increasing knowledge and skill base. • Perform various other assignments per Department Lead’s direction. • Other duties and related work may be assigned as necessary Show your expertise • Preferably a minimum of 1 year of experience performing GTAW or GMAW welding. • Strong GMAW, GTAW welding skills and a knowledge of how all the equipment operates. • Able to read and understand cut sheets and engineering prints thoroughly. • Knowledge of basic metallurgy and weld symbols • Able to speak and understand English, with a focus on following directions, adhering to basic shop safety procedures, and meeting production standards. • Knowledge of basic sheet metal layout. • Math skills include basic arithmetic and geometry. • Can accurately read a tape measure to 1/16" • Good communication and teamwork skills. POSITION SUMMARY: Hardware assembly with hand tools into parts across one or more production areas ensuring required standards of quality are met DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Demonstrate good hand and eye coordination with the ability to use both hands in installing small hardware pieces (screws/rivets) and insulation. • Optimize daily production and on-time delivery performance • Notifies Supervisor of problems which affect the production/quality of parts • Completes all assignments in a timely manner and procedures are followed. • Responsible for quality and quantity of products. • Works with limited or no supervision • Must have knowledge of material speeds and feeds, fixturing and tooling. REASONING ABILITIES: • Uses good judgment; seeks advice and help when necessary. • Must be able to distinguish between acceptable and non-acceptable parts.
