ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  Guest Reception: Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, creating a memorable first impression of the restaurant. Seating Management: Manage reservations and efficiently assign guests to tables, considering preferences, dining flow, and ensuring timely seating. Reservation Handling: Take and confirm reservations over the phone, email, and online platforms, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records. Guest Assistance: Answer guest inquiries regarding the menu, wine list, and restaurant policies, offering helpful recommendations and assisting with special requests. Waitlist Management: Maintain an organized waitlist, ensuring guests are informed of estimated wait times and offering a pleasant waiting experience. Maintain Cleanliness & Organization: Ensure the front-of-house areas (host station, lobby, etc.) are neat, tidy, and presentable at all times. Coordination with Staff: Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth guest flow and exceptional service. Upselling & Promotions: Promote specials, events, or offers to guests and assist in enhancing the overall dining experience. Problem Resolution: Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive resolution while maintaining the high standards of the restaurant. Requirements ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS  Previous experience in a fine dining or upscale hospitality environment preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Knowledge of restaurant reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) is a plus Passion for delivering outstanding customer service PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT  The physical demands & work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Basketball is a favorite. Tennis Courts: There are four courts on the premises. During the time the courts are not in use, all employees are welcome to take advantage of the courts. We ask the following things: Permission is needed, proper tennis attire is required (whites), tennis shoes only, no running shoes. Should any guest want to come and use the courts, vacate the court promptly and courteously. Waterfront: Trout Lake is one of Wisconsin’s finest. There are two docks located on the waterfront. The swimming dock is for guest use only. All employees are welcome to use the boat dock. Employees are welcome to use the following equipment: sailing, water-skiing, canoes, rowboats, and kayaks. No motor boats. You must check out all equipment with the proper resort personnel. Once again, guests have first preference. Golf: Trout Lake Golf Course is located 2 miles north of the resort off HWY 51. We get a 20% discount!
