Serving participants in the schools they attend, our program focuses on engaging and empowering children through activities that support their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.   We are looking for energetic Academic Teachers to lead a designated group of children through a variety of engaging activities while developing positive and nurturing relationships.  Job Summary A Henrico Education Foundation Academic Teacher is responsible for implementing/teaching a variety of activities while developing positive, nurturing relationships with a designated group of children. Activity and lesson areas include: 6-12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Essential Functions Delivers program lesson plans in a developmentally appropriate manner, meeting the individual physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the participants  Facilitates a program environment that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children Provides assistance with homework and encourages academic progress Engages all assigned children, ensuring a high level of participation in activities/lessons Develops appropriate relationships with children and families to better understand and meet the needs of individual children Ensures the safety of children in assigned group Provides active and attentive supervision, staying alert at all times Provide regular feedback to Center Directors and Director of Curriculum regarding student academic and behavior needs  Adheres to the Out of School Time Program policies and procedures Requirements Education and Experience Meet the requirements of Program Leader as detailed in the Virginia Regulations for Licensed Child Day Centers: 21 years of age or older College Degree: Associates or Bachelors Required Six months of programmatic experience with children Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Dependable Positive role model and excellent leadership Professional Knowledge of youth development approaches to the academic and social development of youth Team player: Communication skills, both verbal and written   Work Environment and Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Ability to plan, organize, lead, and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings. POSITION DESCRIPTION   St. Catherine's School is an Episcopal day school for girls in Richmond, Virginia, founded in 1890 enrolling 950 girls in Early Learners (age 3) through Grade 12. St. Catherine's School provides a rigorous education that prepares girls with diverse perspectives for a  lifetime of learning, leadership, and service in a global community.  POSITION OVERVIEW  The Clubhouse at St. Catherine’s School is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays for after school enrichment for Lower School students in grades K-4 from 3:00-6:00 pm  A Clubhouse instructor is in charge of a group of students in grades K- 4, from 2:30 - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students are grouped in multi-grade level groups to include: kindergarten/first, kindergarten/first/second, and second/third/fourth. On Tuesdays, the instructor will support outside vendors. On Thursdays, the instructor will coordinate a group activity for the students to do together (supplies are provided on site). The position will begin on August 26, 2025 through May 21, 2026. Clubhouse is closed for student breaks and holidays. Fencing Instructor New Amsterdam Fencing Academy (NAFA) is dedicated to bringing our program, and all of its many benefits, to students who love and know fencing and to those who would otherwise never have the opportunity to experience this noble sport. New Amsterdam Fencing Academy (NAFA) seeks a professional and enthusiastic Fencing Instructor to join our team. As a member of the NAFA team of fencing coaches, instructors will be assigned to head after-school and summer camp fencing programs throughout the five boroughs. Responsibilities include daily planning and organization of fencing classes. Coaches are responsible for implementing NAFA fencing courses at after-school programs at area elementary schools, middle schools and community centers. They must be effective and professional communicators with school staff and NAFA staff and administrators. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, organized, and fun! Instructors are responsible for the safety and well-being of groups of children. Instructors must have experience working with children or experience with sport fencing, and preferably both. Candidates with limited experience in one of these two areas will be provided appropriate training. All new hires will be expected to undergo training in NAFA curriculum and pedagogy. Classes to be taught are held between 3:00 and 6:00 Mondays through Fridays throughout the school year and between 10:00 and 4:00 during the summer. Instructors must commit to a full term of classes, between 7 and 16 weeks, for any given program. We understand that competitive fencers often travel, and we fully support their training and competing by flexibly scheduling around these commitments.
