For years I have been successful creating a comfortable place for all types of people who living in a shared apartment. I am rather progressive, listen to much news, although I have a smart TV which remains in the living room because I never watch it. I prefer to stream on my computer. In the evening I generally cook dinner around 9pm and up late, I’m home busing myself with chores or projects during the day. I spend a lot of time at home, “holding down the fort”. Generally I make an attempt to maintain some semblance in the home although I’m not fastidious. Background information: I earned a business degree from Northeastern, 1983, and a Masters of Elementary Education from Leslie University, 1994. Two years ago I retired from the Providence Public School System after working as a substitute teacher for 14 years. Since then, my fixed income has been too low to qualify for the type of place I want to rent. I have some money enough to set up an apartment in advance, then look for roommates, but it’s hard to convince rental agencies and landlords of my ability to pay, even using my tried and true method of obtaining reliable, professional roommates to help with the rent. (I have furniture for the whole apartment if needed, but I’m not attached. At this time I am waiting to see if the new landlord will let me stay knowing it is real long shot. To my chagrin, my former roommates have moved. One roommate bought a house, the other left early, rather than live in a tenuous living situation. Nicky is a 13 pound older little fella who is my good companion. He is a rescue from Texas, and some sort of chihuahua/terrier mix.
