The departing roommate is reluctantly moving out of state, and the remaining tenant has been in this spot since 2019 and has a great relationship with the landlord, a family that lives upstairs. About the room: The available bedroom has a large walk-in closet and in its most recent iteration comfortably fit a queen bed, loveseat, large bookshelf, side tables, lamps, etc. It will be unfurnished. About the unit: The entire ground floor of a 2-flat. As mentioned, the landlord lives upstairs, so things are quickly addressed if needed, and they are super chill. The unit is largely furnished with a large living room, formal dining room, bathroom with tub/shower, and spacious sunny kitchen. While as mentioned the space is mostly furnished, there is room for some furniture if you have any, as well as a large storage room in the (dry, not leaky or moldy!) basement for anything else. There is also lots of closet storage throughout including a deep hallway closet, coat closet off the kitchen, etc. The departing roommate also has a desk setup in a small sunlit room off the kitchen, which would be an option for whomever takes over. There is laundry in the basement. Parking is on the street and requires a JP parking pass (free through the city), but there is always plenty in the area. Also there is a lovely yard and porch! About the area: The neighborhood itself is quiet and very friendly. Lots of folks who have been here a long time and built a community that will quickly embrace you if you're looking for it! The Forest Hills Orange Line, commuter rail, and bus stop is a 6 minute walk. A 5 minute walk to several restaurants and bars along Washington/Hyde Park Ave, and a 10 minute walk to additional restaurants, bars, shops, and grocery on South Street. The major corridor of JP where South and Centre meet is about a 15 or 20 minute walk, and even faster bus ride! Also within a short walk is the Arboretum, Jamaica Pond, the Southwest Corridor Park, and Franklin Park. About the current roommate: K (first initial) is a delight! A fun, outgoing, and thoughtful roommate. Mid 30s. Into the Celtics and Bravo. She works in office M-Th and from home on Friday. Has been in the Boston area for 13 years. About you: Responsible but not stuck up. Reliable. Down to hang a little, watch movies, share meals on occasion if it works out. You could have a cat or dog, pending K/landlord approval.
