As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for the performance of work within a particular work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the crafts. Masons and Tuckpointers – Experience in the work tasks of brick replacement, lintel replacement, mortar removal and replacement and stone repair. This position will be responsible for leading machining associates to maximize product quality and quantity with available personnel, material, and equipment in the safest and most efficient manner. Requirements What Will You Do? Direct the activities of, coach, and provide support to all personnel assigned to the operations of the machining plant. Assure that people are using safe work methods. Execute production plans in accordance with customer delivery requirements. Ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and is being repaired when needed. Provide training to machine plant department personnel. Communicate and coordinate with all departments to resolve problems that arise and to improve efficiencies and reduce waste. Review daily production reports so as to identify problem areas and initiates corrective action. Follow up on these to assure that the problem does not recur. Prepare and conduct employee performance evaluations. Recognize employees for their positive contributions to the successful operations of the department. This role involves detailed visual and dimensional inspections, the use of precision measurement tools, and accurate documentation of findings. The inspector works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify non-conformances and support continuous improvement initiatives. Salary Range: $25 - $32 Duties and Responsibilities: Perform in-process and final inspections of composite parts, subassemblies, and finished products. Inspect for defects such as delamination, fiber misalignment, voids, surface irregularities, and bonding issues. Use precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, laser trackers) to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including GD&T requirements. Verify compliance with manufacturing process specifications, work instructions, and quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001). Document inspection results and non-conformances using appropriate forms, databases, or quality systems (e.g., NCRs, inspection reports). Perform destructive and non-destructive testing (NDT) such as visual, ultrasonic (UT), or tap testing when qualified. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to resolve quality issues and recommend corrective actions. Support first article inspections (FAI), production part approvals (PPAP), and internal/external audits. Requirements Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably with composite materials. Knowledge of composite fabrication methods (e.g., hand lay-up, RTM, autoclave, resin infusion) is a strong advantage. Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9102, NADCAP, ISO). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Experience with inspection tools, documentation, and ERP or QMS systems. Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
