** This opportunity is for established independent contractors with an active DOT & MC authority only. ** J.B. Hunt is expanding our Final Mile Services home delivery carrier force. Computes dimensions and plan layout and assembly operation. Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining. Plumbs pneumatic components for fixturing. Five or more years of specific tool making experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Expert level knowledge of Tool Making practices, designs and construction. Technical expertise in one or more specialized areas which may include gauge making, millwright, or other mechanical specialties. Thorough understanding of shop mathematics, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, and metal properties. Demonstrated ability to understand highly technical electronic and written blueprints, models and specifications. Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools. Superior level of accuracy with demonstrated ability to operate standard shop machine tools to tolerances of .0002”. In-depth knowledge of layout, machining and tool assembly procedures.
