Essential Duties • Safely transport logs from remote logging sites to destination points, adhering to all safety and traffic laws. • Secure loads using chains or wrappers to prevent shifting during transit, including throwing wrappers over loaded logs and tightening binders. • Operate in adverse conditions, including driving in snow, ice, and muddy terrain, often requiring the use and installation of tire chains. • Maintain communication with dispatch to report on progress, issues, or route changes. • Ensure proper documentation of all loads and maintain electronic logbooks in accordance with DOT regulations. • Follow all FMCSA, DOT, and company safety regulations and guidelines. • Use individual judgment during long stretches of driving alone to resolve on-the-road issues and make sound operational decisions.
