Job Summary: The Purchasing Agent will support the procurement team by sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services necessary for our operations. This role involves vendor communication, order processing, and ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules and adhering to budgetary constraints. Requirements Duties/Responsibilities:   Source and procure materials, equipment, and services in alignment with project requirements from qualified vendors. Process purchase orders and ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods. Review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods and services to be purchased. Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and confirm order details. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes. Expedite purchases appropriately based on supply and need. Review current inventory, purchase based on current needs, forecasted quantities and best price for volume purchases. Assist Quality Control in the evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors performance based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history. Work directly with suppliers and subcontractors to timely resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, discrepancies, or non-conforming products. ·         Track delivery schedule and ensure proper materials arrive on time in an easily accessible manner. Report critical path purchases and subcontractor deliveries to management and project managers on a weekly basis. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to meet project requirements. Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions and price trends. Collect, analyze, and summarize purchasing data and trends for future planning and strategic inventory control. Support the Senior Purchasing Agent in implementing procurement strategies and cost-saving initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.   Required Skills/Abilities: Understanding of inventory management/supply chain principles Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management Ability to collaborate effectively with team members. Good negotiation and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, fluid environment. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Highly motivated Strong organizational, customer service and time management skills. Ability to analyze data, find meaningful insights, and note important trends. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, fluid environment. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of manufacturing or heavy industry is a plus. Must have good attendance. Physical Requirements:   Must be able to sit for long periods of time and spend extended periods of time typing on computer keyboards or other office equipment. Must be able to read small print and be able to use a computer monitor for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. PPE is required at all times in the plant and yard. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains an electronic inventory of all supplies relevant to patient care at SBHH. Understands inventory management including PAR levels and lead times. Prepares outgoing shipments with necessary documents to correct carrier. Daily stocking of supplies to nursing units per re-establish par levels.
