Position Summary The Sub Tech plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of substations through inspections, maintenance, and repairs of equipment. This position involves working under the supervision of senior technicians and electrical engineers to execute tasks that keep substation operations running smoothly.   Essential Functions Conduct routine inspections of substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, and protective relays. Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment in substations. Support troubleshooting efforts by diagnosing electrical issues and performing necessary repairs. Document maintenance and repair work performed in accordance with company standards. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Collaborate with other team members to execute projects efficiently and safely. Requirements Position Qualifications Required: Wire bus compressing and installation. Adjusting group operating switches. Above ground grounding of equipment. Familiar with all aspects of substation. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical systems is a plus. Basic understanding of electrical principles and substation equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to work irregular hours and respond to emergency service calls as needed. Preferred: Previous experience in a substation or electrical maintenance role. What the Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician role looks like: Perform onsite scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up repairs to Class 6-8 trucks in a mobile/field environment.  Perform Emergency Road Service Calls.  Respond to call center dispatched scheduled and unscheduled service and maintenance requests.  Diagnose and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.  Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.  Use basic hand tools, precision instruments, as well as power tools, welding equipment, and jacks.  Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.  Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times.  Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.  Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.  Perform other duties as assigned. What our ideal candidate looks like: Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Diesel Technician on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.  Proficiency in DOT inspections and air brake repairs.  Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and their drivers.  Proficiency in the use of mobile devices, navigation of mobile applications and use of email to document repairs and communication.  Willingness to work varied schedules and work outdoors/in the elements at customer yards/locations.  Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and apply initiative.  Positive attitude, safety conscious, and self-motivated.  In order to be covered on the company automotive insurance policy, all drivers must be 23 years of age or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record within the last 3 years.  Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions.    Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Vehicles include: Box Truck, For lifts, Van, Pickup trucks, etc. · Assist with the maintenance work, cleaning and repairs for company vehicles and equipment of all types to ensure all are in working order. · Inspect material upon delivery to the warehouse to identify any damage. · Record and report the material amount or count received. · Operate material handling equipment such as hand jacks, wheeled carts and forklifts safely and as needed. · Lift, carry and move material and equipment as needed. · Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables. · Maintain and ensure the warehouse is kept clean, safe, and organized. · Work effectively to meet or exceed schedule goals while maintaining high quality standards. · Maintain clean driving record and abide by all transportation laws. · Be mindful of parking work vehicles when on job site and back at shop to avoid tickets and penalties. · Must be able to handle multiple tasks and to work independently. · Must be able to work early mornings · Be able to work nights and weekends when necessary. · Keep records/logs of vehicles and equipment. · Must be a team player both in the field, in the shop and in an office environment. · Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity.
