The candidate should be willing to go through at a minimum our in house apprentice program learning more conventional machinists skills, like the ones shown below A Conventional Journeyman Machinist is a person who can do the following; 1: Setup a manual lathe, and is proficient at truing material in a 4 jaw chuck 2: Familiar with turning and boring long material in a steady rest 3: Have the ability to hold close tolerances 4: Proficient in reading and understanding drawings, layouts, and conventional millwork. Candidates must pass a written test which consists of measurements, conversions of fractions/decimals, and tool descriptions. A hands-on test may also be given if you pass the written test. Experience in sheet metal and structural fab and framework. Experience welding stainless and aluminum. Tig welding is a plus. One year of paid welding and fabricating experience or completion of college trade school training program that included welding Fabrication. Hours are Monday through Friday 8 to 5. 12 to 1 is lunch.
