Description

General: The production process operator is responsible for maintaining and servicing the manufacturing processes to ensure a top-quality product is safely and efficiently delivered to internal /external customers. Responsibilities include inspection, positioning, and placement of whole or parts of large birds. Hanging, cutting, trimming, and inspecting parts of birds. The position reports to the process supervisor w/ primary work schedule of day shift , Mon. - Thurs. 7am - 5:30pm OR Tues. - Fri., 5am - 3:30pm, with flexibility to work early/ late shift, short notice overtime, and weekends, as needed. Specific Duties / Responsibilities: Responsible for safely operating and maintaining product flow for various equipment and conveying systems including hanging whole or bird parts, cutting, trimming, loading and unloading parts of birds. Safely uses tools, e.g. knives & scissors to prepare poultry parts for further processing Completes on-going housekeeping to meet food safety standards Operates with a safety-first mindset above all other department metrics Works within GMP, Safety, and USDA guidelines to achieve top quality in a safe work environment Willingly learns new skills, cross trains others, and works to improve process flow Works directly with lead, supervisors, and co-workers to achieve production targets Performs other assigned duties as directed Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED (Min.); Experience: Working knowledge / experience in food processing or related field (Poultry processing - preferred / not required) Skills/Abilities/Attributes: Working knowledge in poultry or other food processing industry Solid understanding of food safety compliance (required) Detailed-oriented; self-directed; able to work in fast-paced environment Team player w/ excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Physical Requirements: Lift / move up to 40 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.
