PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assembler I: Access and follow on-line documentation. Prep components by hand or utilizing equipment per documentation. Identify component values. Pre-wave insert thru-hole components in pcb by hand. Hand-solder thru-hole components. Verify work performed by your self and peers meet IPC standards. Complete tasks within specified time or notify lead of inability to do so along with reason. Assembler II: All functions required at Assembler I level. Hand-solder SMT components. Remove and replace thru-hole comp. without board damage. Solder wires and cables. Identify assembly and document issues. Successfully complete J-Std. Training and IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies Training. Assembler III: All functions required at Assembler I and II levels. Remove and replace SMT components without board damage. Perform SMT rework. Provide back-up support for lead in their absence. Write ECO to have assembly and document issues corrected. Complete NCP form when non-conforming product is identified. Successfully complete IPC-7711/IPC-7721 Rework and Repair of Electronic Assemblies Training. POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a Test Engineering Technician to join the test engineering team at Qualitel. In this role, you will primarily be troubleshooting and resolving failures in Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), ensuring our products meet the highest quality and reliability standards. This position requires a solid understanding of electronics, strong analytical and diagnostic skills, and a meticulous attention to detail. You’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams, supporting continuous improvement efforts in our Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) test and debug processes. KEY SUCESS FACTORS: 1 Month Goals: o Complete all company training o Gain familiarity with Qualitel’s internal software tools and systems o Demonstrate proficiency using basic test equipment (DMMs, o-scopes, power supplies) o Identify and troubleshoot basic manufacturing errors (e.g., solder bridges, backwards/missing components) 3 Month Goals: o Independently perform functional testing and initial troubleshooting on assigned PCBAs o Accurately document failures and root causes in accordance with company procedures o Begin interpreting schematics and test documents to troubleshoot to component level 6 Month Goals: o Routinely troubleshoot complex PCBA failures down to the component level o Act as a resource for newer technicians; provide informal guidance or peer training o Identify and recommend process or documentation improvements to enhance yield and efficiency o Take ownership of select product lines or test areas; drive quality and throughput PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  Perform functional testing and debug of PCBAs using standard electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, Automated Test Equipment, etc.).  Troubleshoot failed PCBAs and identify manufacturing defects such as shorts, opens, missing or reversed components.  Interpret schematics, drawings, and test documentation to isolate and resolve issues down to the component level.  Maintain detailed failure documentation and test records for traceability and process improvement.  Support production, quality, and engineering teams by providing feedback on test results and recurring failure trends.  Participate in test development and continuous improvement initiatives.  Ensure all work is completed accurately, on time, and within established labor standards. Communicate effectively with other technicians, supervisors, and management. This position is for first shift with overtime available who can: • Perform setups and operation of 7-axis CNC lathes, screw machines, and Multi-axis turret machines. • Retrieve machine programs from database, create/read tool lists for job. • Accurately set tools and work offsets. Change tooling as needed to restore operation. • Ensure produced parts meet drawing specifications with standard inspection instruments. • Able to troubleshoot and perform basic edits of G-code to solve problems. • Read CMM reports and adjust machine offsets as needed. • Follow work instructions and communicate with Supervisor. • Train machine operators on any job that you set up. • Deburring of parts when needed. • Perform basic machine maintenance. • Keep work area clean and organized.
