Engineering Manager

We’re currently looking for a Production Team Member for a wonderful company that has been in their industry for over 25 years. This position is located in the fantastic city of Buellton, CA, and is a full-time opportunity. The schedule is Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. Some weekend and OT work will be required when necessary, and the pay rate for this position is $18 to $20 an hour (DOE). **This position requires a background check and drug test** Duties & Responsibilities: Participate in the handling, formulation, and production of raw ingredients and finished products. Work to ensure compliance with all regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Organize and maintain supplies and equipment, and help maintain a clean and sanitary facility by participating in cleaning protocols. Maintain accurate records, including production schedules, maintenance, cleaning, and inventory. Operate major equipment for the manufacturing and in-house transportation of dietary supplements and raw ingredients. Communicate well with colleagues and management to ensure a smooth and effective production process. Ensure all safety protocols are followed, and equipment and facilities are operated safely and correctly. Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent Must have a positive, willing attitude and work well within a group. Must have the ability to stoop, bend and safely lift reasonable amounts of weight, and spend significant portions of your workday on your feet. Must be able to work a regular 40-hour week with scheduled overtime, including some evening/weekend shifts. Run distillation units by connecting feed, product, and sludge tanks and apply proper amount of heat from boilers and maintain operating hourly logs to insure that unit is operating at peak efficiency Conducts Solvent recovery for the chemical manufacturing production units via a trio of distillation columns Charge and discharge pot stills with appropriate gallon amounts of liquid to run product to specifications Basic knowledge and understanding of Plant Utilities to include but not limited to:  Steam/Condensate, Cooling Water, Chilled Water, Nitrogen, Air Drier and Compressors, and Process Water Basic knowledge and understanding of common plant equipment to include but not limited to:  Condensers, Heat Exchangers, Safety Vents, Conservation Vents, Rupture Discs, Control Valves, Automatic On/Off Valves, Centrifugal Pumps, Diaphragm Pumps, and Various Valves (Ball Valves, Butterfly Valves, Gate Valves). Basic knowledge and understanding of Distillation Columns and their Operations. Ability to learn or previous working experience with ERP Systems such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards to be able to enter Work Orders for equipment repairs and coordinating with the Maintenance Department. Basic knowledge and understanding of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations is a plus, but not required. Basic knowledge and understanding of the following Control Devices is a plus, but not required:  Steam Stripper for the stripping of solvents from wastewater, Thermal Oxidizer / Ground Flare, and Cryogenic Condenser. Working experience with Safe Work Permits, Hot Work Permits, Line Break Permits, Lock-Out Tag-Out Permits, and Confined Space Permits. Documentation skills and techniques.  Ability to record information in Log Books and record data/information in Batch Sheets. Basic knowledge and understanding in pulling representative samples (liquid samples) from process operations. Key Responsibilities Production, Processing and Manufacturing Oversight • Lead and manage thermal spray production operations to ensure timely delivery, consistent quality, and cost efficiency. • Develop and maintain production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow optimization. Maintenance and Reliability • Supervise Thermal Spray operations facility and equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and extend asset life. • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Continuous Improvement & Quality • Work with quality management systems and corrective actions to reduce defects and rework. • Support standardizing processes, documentation, and best practices throughout thermal operations. Qualifications • Strongly prefer leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in technically demanding environments. • Experience and strong abilities to troubleshoot, install and maintain industrial equipment including air Compressors, dust collectors, motors, and a willingness to trouble shoot thermal coating equipment. • Strong understanding of facilities electrical and plumbing installation and maintenance. • Strong technical understanding of surface treatments, paints, or precision finishing processes, or similar processes required. • Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred • Detail-oriented, honest, transparent and resourceful. • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering degree is preferred but not required.
