TGA introduces the life-long sports of golf and tennis at a young age through programs that provide a fun and enriching experience for children while being a convenient and affordable option for parents. Our dedicated coaching staff help students develop their skills and a passion for golf or tennis while using the sports as a vehicle for delivering curriculums that are loaded with educational concepts including STEM and life skills such as respect, honesty, perseverance and sportsmanship. Classes take place on school campuses, golf courses, recreation centers, occurring mainly after school, in the evenings, or on the weekends. Requirements Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities: -Must be energetic, fun, dynamic, patient and attentive -Must have a passion for working with children -Arrive early and be prepared in advance to teach the class -Inspire a love of movement in an organized, structured, and fun manner -Provide individual and group instruction to children -Maintain up to date information on classes -Communicate with Program Director -Available to work mainly evenings (3:00-8:00pm) and weekends (times can vary) -Prior experience working in golf or tennis and with children preferred -CPR/First Certified (certification can be provided if needed) -Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation and willing to travel to get to class locations around Howard County, MD. -Must pass a background check Benefits -TGA of Howard County will provide training on the curriculum and programming -Pay Scale ($15.00-$20.00) per hour starting depending on qualifications -Bonus opportunities as well

Overview BookNook is seeking passionate educators to join our tutoring community as independent contractors, working up to 30 hours per week. BookNook Tutors are on the front lines of closing the early-learning gap for K-8 students during a key period of their educational journey.  Our Online Reading Tutors work in live, synchronous online tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform and video conferencing software. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on students. As we near the end of the school year, BookNook is seeking to hire tutors for programs scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2025. We will be reviewing applications on an as-needed basis throughout the summer. Please note that response times will be longer than usual. We are NOT currently hiring for immediate work. We expect to start onboarding newly qualified tutors in August. Position Specifics Position Type: 1099-eligible independent contractor Pay Rate: $20 per hour ($10 per 30-minute session) Timeline: Programs begin Fall 2025 Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week based on availability provided and the number of active tutoring programs. Schedules may vary based on school requests. Sessions are held only on weekdays (no weekends) and can be before school, during school, or after school. Program duration varies. Manage student behavior and engagement throughout sessions Create a safe, respectful learning environment Maintain positive relationships with students Document observations for each session in the session notes Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Must reside in and work from the United States, with a US mailing address. Knowledge of and experience with reading instruction based in the science of reading. Ability to build meaningful connections with students to create a motivating and encouraging environment. Experience teaching/tutoring K-8 students, which may include, but is not limited to: having a current/previous teaching license, serving as a substitute teacher or teaching assistant, paraprofessional, professor, instructor, AND/OR tutoring for another tutoring company. Classroom experience preferred. Online teaching/tutoring experience preferred. Completed or enrolled in a teacher credential program preferred. Access to a computer, webcam, and reliable, high-speed internet connection with a speed of at least 10mbps.
