Position Summary: Provide technical design, consultation, information and assistance to internal and external customers under direct supervision to insure that project complies with all engineering standards. The Engineer will work under the supervision of the Director of Engineering. Work will be completed in concert with the stated project requirements, all current codes, as well as Engineering Standards. Applicant will be responsible for designing, developing and producing permit and construction documents for electrical systems. The position will be responsible for managing engineering projects from start to completion under the supervision of the Project and Engineering Managers. Essential Job Functions: Power Distribution, Signal and Lighting Design Single line Diagrams and Panel Schedules Lighting Fixture Selection and Schedules Lighting Control Diagrams Title 24 Compliance Calculations Review shop drawings and specifications Review, comment and process equipment and system submittals Visit job sites for field investigations Short circuit, voltage drop, load and demand calculations Coordination with other construction trades and disciplines Back check of own work for accuracy and completeness before submission to others Perform coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, process and all electrical trades Coordinate work with the project specifications or equipment buy-out Attend project design team meetings. Interface with various team members, particularly the client, architect, and mechanical contractor/engineer Work closely with the Electric Operations Project Manager to coordinate the design criteria with budgetary issues Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors Perform other duties assigned by Director of Engineering Review plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates under the supervision of the Chief Engineer Work on the design and on-going progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with other team members Minimum Job Requirements: Registered professional engineer with State of California license (Preferred) Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering Minimum 10-Years of experience in electrical systems design Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Word & Excel Experience Navis Manage a plus Advanced knowledge of the NEC as well as building codes and ordinances Broad knowledge and experience with power and lighting design Understanding of sustainable design and LEED Documentation Ability to lead several small-to-medium sized projects or a single significant project
