JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The ideal candidate for this position must possess the following attributes: • A strong knowledge of California rules and court procedures. • A solid understanding of every stage of case management, from inception to mediation, trial/settlement to post-mediation, post-trial/post-settlement. • A clear understanding of the discovery process and timelines. • The organizational skills to manage large caseloads and document productions. • The knowledge to prepare, format and edit legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, correspondence, as well as a background in conducting legal research. • The ability to multi-task and complete assignments quickly and accurately to meet demanding deadlines. • The ability to skillfully organize and effectively manage substantial caseloads while ensuring billable hours and expenses are accurately recorded each day. • Ability to use standard law office applications, software and platforms for managing projects/communications, formatting/drafting/eFiling legal documents, performing research and gathering information (Microsoft Business 365 -Outlook, MS word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) Acrobat DC Pro, CEB, Clio, Clio Draft, BoxSign, LexisNexis, Zipforms etc.). • The ability to take initiative, be resourceful and anticipate needs of attorneys, staff, and clients. QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum 2-5 years of Litigation Paralegal experience in Personal Injury and Real Estate (Required) • Must be computer savvy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat • Attention to detail is an absolute requirement • Excellent written and oral communications skills (Must provide a couple-paragraph writing sample) • Excellent interpersonal skills, you must be able to communicate and interact with clients, court staff, and other third parties on behalf of the firm in a professional and courteous manner • Adaptable and not afraid to learn new legal-related software • A self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions and navigate through uncertainty • Must be a team player to work effectively We offer competitive compensation and support professional growth.
