Sierra Pacific is establishing a construction crew to support a series of major projects, including site preparation and construction of two sawmills. Major construction work will span approximately 3 years. It is expected the construction crew will have opportunity to build a career with Sierra Pacific Industries, either at the Eugene location, or working on future planned projects in the Pacific Northwest. The following opportunities are currently available in Eugene: Entry-Level Construction Laborer: $27.66 per hour Construction Crewmember: $31.21 per hour Skilled Construction Crewmember: $33.60 per hour Advanced Construction Crewmember: $36.09 per hour About the Position Perform general construction work utilizing a variety of materials and tools Work will vary with a focus on structural steel, piping, slope sheeting, and equipment installation, and can include various other aspects of general construction such as concrete and carpentry Prepare job site for work to be done including loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment Perform general labor and construction tasks as directed by project manager Perform skilled tasks such as welding, cutting, material preparation, fabrication, repair, and diagnostics Recognize, report, and effectively repair mechanical and structural defects Work in and around elevated equipment and structures Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner, meeting safety and environmental compliance and state regulations Work will be in all weather conditions in an outside environment Qualifications Minimum qualifications for all positions 1 year of recent and relevant experience, with verifiable good work references 1 year experience with general construction trades and methods The following experience and qualifications will be considered in filling positions above entry level: Operating forklift and telehandler Operating manlift and scissor lift Using cutting torch, drill press, grinder, and various hand tools 7018 stick welding in all positions Accurately read blueprints and drawings Rigging and ability to select appropriate cables, ropes, pulleys and/or slings for the given application Demonstrated knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both fabrication and construction in industrial settings Successful applicants will be considered for positions based on demonstrated experience, skills, and competencies Why Join Our Team? Position Description The Desert Research Institute (DRI) is seeking two dedicated individuals to fill two full-time Building Technician – HVAC/R positions for the Reno campus.
