About the Division of Recovery Services (DRS) MHA’s Division of Recovery Services (DRS) supports individuals of all ages who are navigating mental health and substance use challenges. Our youth residential programs serve adolescents involved with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) who are working through behavioral health needs in a safe, structured environment. DRS also provides residential and outreach support for adults in recovery or currently living with addiction, many of whom may also experience co-occurring mental health concerns. Through compassionate, trauma-informed care, we help individuals build coping skills, restore stability, and work toward long-term recovery and wellness. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Position Summary MHA is hiring immediately, for a Shift Supervisor.  The Shift Supervisor will work alongside the program supervisor, the shift supervisor provides leadership and support to residential staff to empower participants in achieving their vision of recovery and rehabilitation. Supports staff with a strength-based approach that fosters growth and opportunity. The shift supervisor leads by modeling interactions with participants that focus on strength and resiliency through person-centered planning. Ensure coordination and delivery of services to a designated program by observing interactions in the milieu and through data compiled from reports. The shift supervisor maintains compliance with Federal, State, and Mental Health Association policies and regulations. Pay Rate: $21 an hour Schedule: Sunday through Thursday 10am-6pm (40h), some flexibility required Key Responsibilities Supervise and support staff, including providing individual and group supervision, conducting evaluations, facilitating training, and promoting adherence to MHA and regulatory standards. Coach staff on resident engagement, assisting them in supporting residents with daily living needs and modeling trauma-informed, strengths-based care techniques. Ensure program compliance, monitoring documentation such as notes, IAPs, medication logs, and daily records to meet all agency and regulatory requirements. Respond to emergencies, including medical and psychiatric incidents, following protocols and notifying supervisors within required timeframes. Coordinate care across disciplines, maintaining communication between internal teams and external providers such as hospitals, DMH, nursing staff, and case managers. Support and advocate for participants, helping them develop ADLs, access resources, engage in recovery-oriented activities, and navigate benefits, education, and vocational systems. Promote health and wellbeing, identifying triggers, providing crisis support, administering medications per MAP standards, and ensuring participants follow individualized care plans. Maintain safe and clean living environments, including participation in household tasks, cleanliness standards, and transportation support for participants. Facilitate therapeutic and educational activities, such as psychoeducational groups and house meetings, while maintaining professionalism and healthy boundaries. Requirements Valid driver’s license, sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and a safe reliable vehicle during working hours. Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing needs of the program participants. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, caring, and compassion. Must be able to pass and maintain certifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and first aid. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). College degree in human services or relevant field is preferred. At least six months experience required in a related field. One year preferred.
