Address: 950 Riverside Dr., Asheville, NC 28804 Job Summary The Electrician will be responsible for repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical equipment throughout the facility. This includes, but is not bound to, performing preventative maintenance, trouble-shooting equipment related issues, and other various facility or machinery equipment. The Electrician should be knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with the industry and company standards. Responsibilities Safe installation, service and repair of electrical systems & devices Planning and installing the wiring, conduit and fixtures as needed Troubleshoot, repair and replace drives and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) using electrical schematics, and locate components in machinery Ensure all equipment and electrical devices follow electrical code Accurately label all electrical services and wiring in an easy to understand manner Install and program various types of meters and operator interfaces to maintain machinery within set parameters Other tasks to include maintenance work beyond electrical Requirements Completion of an Electrician program at a trade/vocational school or post secondary institution is required. Certified/Licensed Electrician or Journeyman is helpful Must have 5 years of confirmed experience in electrical troubleshooting Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is an asset Must have the capacity to accurately read and understand multi-meters and ampere meters to check voltage. Must be self-motivated to work independently under minimal direction and have good written and verbal communication skills Able to interpret instructions and directions diligently Strong time management, interpersonal and attention to detail Other duties as delegated Complexity and judgment Regularly encounters problems that involve multiple-choice options, but through before exposure, experience and established procedures/policies can resolve most accurate course of action. Work involves both routine and non-routine tasks within well-defined standards. Physical requirements The ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Ability to stand, lift, and perform for long periods. The ability to wear all required PPE including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection. Ability to work 12-hour shifts. Ability to perform repetitive motions Working Conditions Incumbent spends almost 100% of time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labor. The majority of the work will cover lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (20-50 lbs.), standing and walking. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Moderate amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and predictable workflow, bring moderate levels of stresses to this position. May be exposed to hazardous material, chemical and/or high voltage electricity, heights more than 15 feet and all external weather and environment.
