Hours: Full-time & Part-Time Available The Emory Valley Center We at the Emory Valley Center (EVC) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, are a nonprofit organization that has been changing lives since 1955, when a group of devoted parents came together to create better opportunities for their children with disabilities. Today, the EVC supports people of all ages with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities across East Tennessee, offering everything from early childhood education, therapy, job coaching and so much more. Probably the largest part of what makes up the EVC is our residential department, where caring staff help individuals live as independently as possible and help support them with everyday necessities (that could be learning to cook a meal, getting ready for work, or enjoying community outings). The focus is always on building confidence and celebrating each person’s unique abilities. Residential and Home Managers go above and beyond—supporting daily routines, creating personalized care plans, training dedicated staff, and ensuring every home feels like family. It’s a place where people grow, laugh, thrive, and truly belong. Direct Support Professional Responsibilities: Assist with daily living tasks (e.g., cooking, dressing, grooming) Support community involvement and relationship-building Monitor and report on individuals’ physical and emotional well-being Administer medications and follow medical guidelines Maintain a safe, clean environment Implement behavior support plans and encourage positive behaviors Maintain accurate documentation and share updates with the care team Promote independence through guidance and problem-solving Perform additional duties as needed based on the day and environment Requirements Strong judgment and ability to remain calm under pressure Compassionate approach to personal care Comfortable interacting with diverse individuals Basic computer and administrative skills Adaptability and strong problem-solving in dynamic settings Ability to de-escalate behavioral situations Available Shifts: Part-Time: Hours dependent on current openings Full-Time: (Thurs, Fri, Sat) 8am-8pm or (Wed, Fri, Sat) 8am-8pm Benefits Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance 403(b) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off Life Insurance Employee Assistance Program Referral Program Gym Membership and more! In this position, you will play a critical part in the rapid fabrication and support of various cable assemblies used in Army prototype systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building complex cable assemblies to engineering specifications and working in a classified or controlled environment.   Responsibilities:  Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies for prototype systems.   Interpret engineer drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
