Essel Environmental provides On-Demand Emergency and Disaster Response Personnel throughout the United States. The Field Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, general construction and other tasks. Job Responsibilities: Utilize hand-tools and equipment, absorbent booms and pads to contain and remediate impacted surfaces, soils and waters. Operate light and heavy equipment including: pumps, vacuum, oil spill boom, generators, bobcats, etc. Perform emergency response activities including: chemical and water spills, etiological and biological contamination, tank cleaning, equipment decontamination. Be able to meet a 12 hour night or day shift work schedule with dependability and consistency. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Able to work on-call projects as well as longer term projects Experience with pump watch, setting up gabion walls and sediment removal required Ability to perform labor intensive activities in any weather or environmental conditions Reliable local transportation Ability to perform duties while adhering to safety priorities while wearing PPE, such as respirators and protective clothing' Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $18.00- 20.00 per hour Schedule: 10 hour shift 12 hour shift 8 hour shift Application Question(s): Do you have a current 40 Hour Hazwoper Certificate?
