Re-use Hawai‘i is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization on a mission to strengthen our community by decreasing waste, providing affordable resources, creating green jobs, and (re)cultivating the circular economy. Every year, we divert an average 740,000 pounds of resources from the landfill through our Deconstruction and Redistribution programs. Deconstruction is a sustainable alternative to demolition where our skilled crews hand-disassemble buildings to salvage the material for reuse. These building materials, along with salvaged furniture, appliances, hardware, and more are sold at our Redistribution Centers for 40-90% off retail value. We're proud to provide an affordable resource for our community while decreasing waste and the emissions associated with the production of new material. LANDSCAPER POSITION POSITION SUMMARY A landscaper maintains grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. A landscaper typically performs a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, irrigation repairs and gutter cleaning. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Care for established lawns by weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls. • Install and maintain irrigation systems. • Gather and remove litter from landscape. • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges. • Water lawns, trees, or plants. • Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage. QUALIFICATIONS   • Must be able to do landscaping maintenance at the highest level. • Must be able to work with all power tool and hand tools. • Must be able to use a mower, string trimmer, hedger etc. • Ability to work well with a team or alone. Must be physically able to lift 50lbs or more. Able to continuously bend, lift, squat and be on your feet for 8 hours. • Must have reliable transportation and drivers license. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • 1 year experience. • Experience with irrigation and installation helpful. • Experience with tree trimming helpful. This is a "hands on" role in which the employee will be expected to execute the duties below, as well as work well in a team environment.
