Construction Journeyman (North Portland)

J.R. Johnson, LLC, has been in business for over fifty years and we are based in Portland, OR. Our projects are primarily in the Portland/Vancouver greater metro with occasional projects outside that service area. Our construction division handles projects of all scales, and we perform extensive work at the building envelope, on decks, and typically in occupied space. We are seeking full-time journeyman carpenters to join our winning team. Successful candidates will have: · Safe work practices and adherence to all OSHA and JRJ safety guidelines. · Ability and willingness to cultivate teamwork and quality. · Reliable personal transportation. . Trucks or vans with ladder racks a plus. · Ability to perform physical labor for 8-10 hours. · A tool belt and basic hand tools. Additional tools a plus. · Comfort working from heights from ladders and scaffolding. · Ability to pass a motor vehicle and criminal background check. · Knowledge of basic construction practices, including: o Wall and deck framing o Sheathing o WRB o Flashing o Siding or cladding o Windows and doors o Ability to read plans/prints and follow onsite direction. o Architectural coating knowledge a plus.
