Not Your Usual Remote Writer for Online End of Life Publication (oakland downtown)
1970 Franklin St, Oakland, CA 94612, USA
SevenPonds.com, a website and online magazine that offers tools, resources and information about end of life, is looking for a remote writer to join our team. This is a remote writing contract position. The ideal candidate will have a background in creative writing, journalism or online content creation and a working knowledge of WordPress and AP Style. An excellent command of English grammar, punctuation and syntax is a must. SevenPonds is not your usual website. We cover topics that, in many ways, are still taboo in our society -- subjects like death and dying, aging, life-limiting illness, grief and loss. For that reason, we seek out writers who have some special insight into end of life, whether through personal experience or through their work. Writing skill and expertise are important to us. But a passion for our genre is a must. If this position seems right for you, please submit a resume, a cover letter telling us a bit about yourself and two samples of your work. You may attach your writing samples to your cover letter; submit a link to your online portfolio; or include links to articles that have been published under your name. If you are selected as one of our top three candidates, we will also ask you to write a short essay on a subject related to end of life. (We will assign the topic after the interview process is complete.) We pay $200 a month for 3 short articles and $150 per feature article. Thank you for your interest in SevenPonds. We look forward to hearing from you.
