Book Editor – Memoir & Nonfiction (Remote Pacific Only, Contract) Job Type: (Remote Pacific Only, Contract) Location: Remote Compensation: $5,000 Total (Milestone-Based Payments) Application Deadline: Rolling until filled Project Completion Deadline: September 15, 2025 About the Role: We are seeking a professional, experienced Book Editor to partner on a compelling nonfiction memoir project. This is a contract-based position for an editor who can deliver a high-quality manuscript by September 15, 2025. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in memoir and nonfiction editing, able to enhance structure, maintain voice, and improve readability while polishing for publication. If you thrive on collaboration, have a strong editorial eye, and love stories rooted in resilience and legacy, we’d love to hear from you. What You’ll Do: Perform developmental editing to strengthen story structure, narrative arc, and clarity Conduct line editing to improve tone, transitions, and flow while preserving author voice Provide copyediting and proofreading to correct grammar, punctuation, and consistency Collaborate with the author through revision cycles, integrating new content where needed Deliver clean, formatted drafts that are publishing-ready Timeline & Payment Structure: The editorial process will follow four (4) project milestones. Payment is due upon acceptance of each completed milestone by the client. Milestone Deliverables Payment Milestone 1 First edited draft with grammar corrections, structure edits, and integrated stories $1,000 Milestone 2 Second draft with narrative enhancements, grammar review, and deeper blending $1,500 Milestone 3 Third draft with advanced editorial polish, proofing, and story integration $1,500 Milestone 4 Final manuscript with all revisions, clean formatting, and polished grammar $1,000 ✅ All payments made within 5 business days of milestone approval via Zelle, PayPal, or ACH. 📅 Final manuscript due no later than September 15, 2025.
