We are looking for an experienced computer programmer to develop a custom Kitchen Display System (KDS) and order fulfillment app for our multi-location bakery business. This is a project-based contract with the potential for additional work after completion. Project Scope: Build a custom KDS integrated with Square POS Display orders in real time with item-level completion tracking Develop a connected order fulfillment app to streamline production and delivery Deliver a polished, reliable, bug-tested solution with decent UX that is future-proofed for expansion and long-term maintenance Requirements: Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, API integrations Strong experience with Square API or similar POS API systems Solid database management and cloud hosting skills Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and produce clean, scalable code UI/UX design skills a plus Compensation: Project-based — Estimated budget $8,000–$12,000, negotiable based on experience and scope. Payment by agreed milestones. Ownership & Partnership Opportunity: All code, designs, and related work will be the exclusive property of our company. However, we are open to discussing a future partnership if we decide to offer this product to other bakeries.
