Description

The Shift Lead / Supervisor at a UPS Retail Store is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, leading associates, and ensuring excellent customer service during assigned shifts. This role involves assisting with shipping, printing, and business services while managing workflow, resolving issues, and enforcing store policies. The Shift Lead / Supervisor plays a key role in training and mentoring team members to maintain efficiency and professionalism in a fast-paced retail environment. Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Work Environment Education & Experience  High school diploma or GED required.  1-2 years of experience in a retail, customer service, or supervisory role preferred. Primary Job Duties: Leadership & Team Support  Supervise store associates during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures.  Lead by example by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive work environment.  Delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth store operations and efficient workflow.  Assist with onboarding and training new employees on store procedures, customer service, and equipment use.  Provide feedback and guidance to associates to improve performance and maintain store standards. Customer Service & Sales  Greet and assist customers with shipping, printing, and office service needs.  Educate customers on shipping options, pricing, and estimated delivery times.    Promote and sell store products, including packaging materials, office supplies, and business services.  Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.  Ensure all customers receive prompt and courteous service. Shipping & Package Handling  Oversee package processing and ensure compliance with UPS policies and carrier requirements.  Assist with weighing, labeling, and packing customer shipments securely.  Monitor incoming and outgoing mail and package deliveries for mailbox rental customers.  Ensure that all shipments are handled with accuracy and efficiency to prevent errors or delays. Printing & Office Services  Operate and assist customers with copiers, fax machines, laminators, binding machines, and other office equipment.  Provide guidance on printing services, including formatting, scanning, and document preparation.  Ensure proper maintenance and troubleshooting of office equipment to minimize downtime. Cash Handling & POS Transactions  Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.  Ensure all transactions, including cash, credit, and debit payments, are handled securely.  Oversee cash drawer balancing and closing procedures at the end of each shift.  Assist with refunds, exchanges, and other financial transactions per store policy. Store Maintenance & Inventory Management  Monitor store cleanliness, organization, and product displays.  Ensure that shelves are stocked with necessary supplies and products.  Assist with inventory control by tracking stock levels, restocking items, and placing orders as needed.  Follow opening and closing procedures, including securing cash and locking the store.  Enforce safety and security protocols to prevent theft, loss, or damage to store property.
