About you - We’re looking for a Plant Procurement Specialist, someone who lives and breathes plants and thrives on being hands on. You’re the kind of person who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves, jump in a truck, check in with teams across locations, and physically inspect product deliveries and shop displays. You love the energy of in person teamwork and aren’t shy about keeping everyone informed and organized. You’ll be a vital player in a team effort that keeps our retail locations stocked, vibrant, and ready to wow our customers. A strong knowledge of plant care and an eye for merchandising is essential. Bonus points if you have a deep respect for sustainability and sourcing responsibly like us! This is a full time, in person role that requires your own transportation. You’ll travel between our home office and retail locations, coordinate with vendors, and always be ready to jump in where needed. Responsibilities - - Buy and source weekly plants and seasonal items - Track previous sales, current trends, and seasonal rhythms for forecasting - Analyze both historical and real time data to reduce waste and maximize sales - Maintain seasonal calendars and ensure timely execution of plant orders - Maintain relationships with growers, nurseries, and wholesalers - Coordinate deliveries and update stores with timelines, pricing, and product highlights - Work with the retail teams to ensure all products are properly labeled, priced, and merchandised - Provide information for SKU/barcode creation and price updates - Ensure trainers and store teams are up to date on incoming inventory and proper care - Visit each location regularly to assist with merchandising, check on inventory, and pitch in as needed - Partner with retail staff to maintain plant health, troubleshoot issues, and manage restocks - Share feedback with vendors on quality or delivery concerns - Track product costs, log waste data, and assess performance against revenue targets - Work with our Procurement Manager to review sales, markdowns, and opportunities - Keep all reports and trackers up-to-date across Google Sheets and procurement systems Requirements - - Plant Science / Horticulture certifications and/or degrees preferred - Strong plant knowledge including care, species identification, and seasonal availability - Experience in retail procurement, inventory, or merchandising (live goods preferred) - Ability to analyze and work from data familiar with Excel and Google Sheets - Proven communication and coordination skills - Comfortable working independently, traveling to locations, and jumping into new tasks - Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required Compensation: $44,000-$52,000 annually
