What we expect from you as a Northwest Ambulance Paramedic: Northwest Ambulance Paramedics are expected to provide the highest level of patient care to our patients and excellent customer service to our partnered facility staff. The Paramedic is responsible for supervising patient care, treatment, and assessment during transport. Duties include providing excellent patient care, safe lifting and transferring of patients, operating emergency vehicles safely, adhering to company policies, completing documentation, responding to dispatch instructions, maintaining safety standards, participating in continuing education, keeping vehicles and stations clean, maintaining equipment and supplies, communicating effectively, and maintaining strict confidentiality. Responsibilities: Treat and transport patients from the field or from healthcare facilities to a higher level of care to include neonates, infants, pediatrics, adults, and special populations.  Utilize equipment such as IV Pumps, ICU ventilators, cardiac monitors and additional advanced equipment to ensure excellent patient care.  The ability to perform duties as a paramedic to include, but are not limited to, intubation, administration of paralytics using Rapid Sequence and Delayed Sequence airway management, surgical airway, needle thoracostomy, orogastric tube placement, intravenous and intraosseous access.  Work alongside crew members of varying levels of experience in a manner that encourages a positive workplace environment.  Follows the policies and procedures of NWA and County Medical Protocols.  Completes dispatched assignments efficiently.  Must be punctual and attentive.  Provides appropriate documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.  Assesses risks to patient safety and follows procedures to always ensure safety of oneself and others.  Ability to always operate the ambulance in a safe manner, complying with Washington State and company requirements for operation of a motor vehicle.  Coordinates with dispatchers and management in order to provide timely compassionate care if unexpected circumstances arise.  Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on exceeding customer expectations to provide the highest level of patient care.  Maintains a professional appearance and high uniform standards.  Cleans, organizes and restocks ambulances during each shift.  Perform other duties as assigned.  Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.   Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  Excellent time management skills.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Strong supervisory and leadership skills.  Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.  Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.  Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting in a vehicle and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times. Ability to bend and stoop, ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition, good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform all tasks related to Emergency Medical Services Duty. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.  At least two years of related experience preferred.   Current NREMT-P, current out of state Paramedic certification, or WA State Paramedic certification*  PHTLS, PALS, ACLS certifications required.  CCP-C or FP-C preferred  Must Have's: Active driver's license - must have maintained for 2 years or longer. Clean driving record - limit of 2 citations in past 36 months; DUI and other serious offenses may disqualify candidacy. Must be 18 years or older.
