Houseperson full-time - Wednesday - Sunday 1:30pm - 10pm (Solvang)

The Wine Valley Inn in Solvang has an immediate opening for a full-time Houseperson who will work Wednesday thru Sunday, 1:30pm - 10pm, Monday and Tuesdays off. This is a valued position for the front desk team and requires a dependable person. This position interacts with guests for requests and possibly light maintenance - replace light bulb, assist with TV's, get AC/Heat unit working. In addition, applicant will perform custodial duties, performs laundry duties - wash, dry and fold, runs items to guest rooms and assists guests as needed. Maintains premises and facility in a clean and orderly condition. Must be able to walk up and down stairs and carry up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be bitlingual Spanish/English to beable to communicate with guests and staff to assist with their requests. JOB FUNCTIONS *1) Performs custodial tasks such as (not limited to) sweeping, dusting and polishing exterior woodwork, fixtures and equipment, washing windows, and walls. *2) Operates commonly used types of power and non-power cleaning and polishing equipment. 3) Walks property picking up garbage, keeping hallways clear of debris. 4) Takes items to guest room upon request from front desk. 5) Performs minor preventive maintenance tasks as needed 6) Processes laundry - wash, dry and fold linen. Stocks linen closets and carts. 7) Other related tasks upon request. *8) Complies with all Company and Department safety policies and procedures. JOB REQUIREMENTS 1) Basic reading and writing. 2) Must be able to communicate in bilingual/English (speak, write and understand). 3) Physical ability to perform essential functions of job. 4) To be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. 5) To be able to climb up and down elevated surfaces frequently. 6) To be able to push/pull up to 100 frequently. 7) Ability to follow instructions.
