Nobu 57 in midtown is looking for an awesome Dispense Barback to join our hospitality focused team! Job Purpose: The Dispense Barback plays a critical role in ensuring the bar operates smoothly by handling behind-the-scenes duties. This includes preparing and restocking supplies, managing the dispense area, and providing overall support to the bar team. By maintaining an organized and efficient back-of-house environment, the Dispense Barback helps bartenders focus on delivering top-quality drinks and exceptional guest experiences. Key Responsibilities:  Ensure the dispense area is stocked with essential supplies, such as spirits, syrups, garnishes, glassware, and other bar tools, allowing bartenders to work efficiently without interruptions.  Prepare garnishes (e.g., lemons, limes, herbs) and other ingredients (e.g., syrups, juices) in advance, ensuring they are fresh and stored properly for easy access during service.  Regularly clean and sanitize the dispense area, storage spaces, bar tools, and glassware to meet health and safety standards.  Track inventory levels, noting when supplies are running low, and notify the Bar Manager or Lead Bartender to reorder items as necessary.  Assist bartenders with basic drink preparation tasks, such as pouring ingredients, garnishing drinks, and preparing glassware, while maintaining speed and accuracy during peak service times.  Maintain the organization of the back-of-house area, ensuring everything from supplies to storage is easily accessible and arranged.  Help with opening and closing duties, including setting up the dispense area before the shift and breaking it down after service.  Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards, ensuring proper handling and storage of ingredients and cleaning supplies.  Help manage waste reduction by ensuring efficient use of ingredients and supplies, minimizing excess or expired stock.  Assist with Prep duties when necessary Required Skills and Abilities:  Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment is preferred  Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments is a plus.  Ability to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient back-of-house area to ensure seamless service.  Strong focus on preparing ingredients, garnishes, and supplies to meet the high standards of Nobu.  Ability to collaborate with bartenders, servers, and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the bar.  Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, efficiently restocking and preparing supplies while keeping the dispense area organized.  Understanding of health and safety regulations, with a focus on cleanliness and food safety.  Able to walk up/down stairs, lift/carry/push/pull up to 50lbs, climb ladders, squat, kneel and stand for long periods of time.  Ability to identify issues with inventory, supply levels, or equipment and take initiative to address them quickly. You MUST have full time availability that includes: lunch shifts, dinner shifts, closing shifts, weekends and holidays. Pay rate is $16.50 for training and then $21-$24 per hour based on experience.
