Part-Time Care Worker / Creative Assistant – SFV (Granada Hills)

I'm a 38-year-old disabled designer and journalist looking for a part-time COVID-safer care worker to assist me 2–3 days per week at my home in Granada Hills (north San Fernando Valley). IHSS-registered a plus! This is a mellow, supportive work environment with lots of downtime; ideal for freelancing creatives, students, or anyone who wants steady hours in a low-stress setting. Built-in time off during summer and major holidays because my mom, who helps with my care, is a teacher. Shifts are typically 2.5-3 hours long and flexible within the hours of 7:30am-5pm. Right now, I'm looking to fill the early morning shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and am always looking to add folks to my backup roster. Ideally, I'm seeking someone who can commit to the role for at least the full school year (September 2025 to early June 2026). Bonus: Occasional extra paid shifts are also available with my small business, helping produce adaptive intimate wellness products. This could include light assembly, packing orders, and in-person vending events. $20/hr. About the Role: Assistance with daily personal care (training provided; no prior experience required) Wheelchair transfers (good body awareness helpful) Light housekeeping and food prep Occasional help with respiratory treatments Light assistance with my hobbies, including perfumery and soap making — things like mixing dilutions, labeling supplies, and helping organize materials About You: COVID-conscious: fully vaccinated and willing to mask while working with me Queer-friendly, and body-positive Reliable transportation Lives in the San Fernando Valley IHSS-registered preferred (or open to enrolling if not yet registered) Able to commit to the job for at least one full school year (starting immediately, through early June 2026) If you're looking for meaningful, steady part-time work with plenty of downtime to study, freelance, or work on side projects, I’d love to hear from you.
