Part-Time Companion/Support – Squirrel Hill Seeking a reliable, patient individual to assist an independent adult woman (age 48) with intellectual disabilities in her own home and in her community. Supported living is type of support that involves working in a clients home and supporting them to become the most independent and capable person they are able to be. We drive them to lots of fun community activities, take them shopping, to appointments and help them learn to navigate their emotions and behaviors. We cook, clean, do laundry, shovel snow and everything else that comes with the care of a home while trying to help them learn to do all of these tasks. We are currently hiring support staff with a $1000.00 hiring bonus for full time staff when you have successfully met the requirements. We are looking for both full and part time shifts, and we have on-call! Hiring!!! We are looking for a few fun and energetic people who love the outdoors and working with children. We are Into the Forest Outdoor Learning Center and Preschool, Spokane's first nature-based outdoor preschool. We believe children learn best when they are not confined to indoor spaces and forced to sit, to learn. And also, through experiences of touching, moving, listening, and observing and have control over the direction of their learning. A child's Self-confidence and self-esteem are built when they can explore and make their own decisions while being supported by their peers and teachers. We let children self-engage in activities that we have set out, that have a specific skill set that we are teaching. After they engage in the activities, we as teachers sit with them and expand on what they are learning. We spend at least 50% of the day outside in all weather and bring all the learning activities that we do inside, outside. We are looking for several team members for full and part-time positions that will fit with our teaching style. Part time postion would be m-f 12pm-5/5:30pm. Starting wages will range from $17.00-$20.00/hr depending on experience. First aid, CPR, TB test, and background check are required before starting. You must also complete the 110-300 WAC training and qualifications to be considered for the positions.
