We are seeking a Childcare Bus Driver to add to our growing team at a Gold (SUTQ), NAC Accreditation childcare and preschool center in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for serving as a bus driver for transportation of children to and from the childcare center and help maintain a clean and safe learning environment for all children. Bus Driver Responsibilities Driving a 14-passenger school bus. (No CDL Required). Potential Candidate should have previous driving experience and be comfortable with groups of children (5 years of age - 12 years of age). Assist in documentation for attendance and transportation services provided. Bus inspections, maintaining scheduled bus/van maintenance, and bus cleaning is required daily. Responsible for the morning (7:00a - 9:30a) and afternoon (1:30p - 4:30p) bus run Monday through Friday Requirements At least a high school diploma or equivalent. No college degree required. Must be at least 21 years of age or older. AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field will have a competitive edge. Current physical, and ability to pass BCI/FBI background check. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Comfortable driving a 14-passenger bus. Experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle preferred. Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to transporting children. Seasonal requirements would include field trips and some supervision support while there. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. Maintain a clean and neat appearance. Ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and support staff. Reliable, compassionate, and able to create a warm, nurturing and responsive environment for children and families. Must be dependable and maintain a good work record as to punctuality and daily attendance. Tdap and MMR Vaccination TB Screening Work Environment & Physical Demands Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stand, and sit on the floor or on child-sized furniture for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move a child repetitively weighing up to 50lbs. Ability to work in a moderate to noisy work environment. Ability to assist children in an emergency situation. Climb and descend 1 to 2 flights of stairs (while helping children safely navigate steps). Able to meet the physical demands staying in proximity of children to be within arm's reach. Participate in safety drills by following the established guideline which includes moving children from one location to another. Withstand outdoor temperatures and condition for extended periods of time during all seasons. This is a part-time, leadership role for a skilled coach who can confidently run daily recess programming, lead a small team of coaches, and be the face of ANTS to our school partners. ANTS Sports is a San Francisco-based youth sports organization focused on building confidence, wellness, and joy through multi-sport instruction for kids in grades K–5. We lead programs at schools and parks across the Bay Area, partnering with public and private institutions to bring high-energy, inclusive sports programming into school days and after-school time.
