Bilingual Teacher Assistant for Childcare Center (Boerum Hill)

Seeking a teacher assistant for a bilingual (English/Spanish) childcare center. Part-time to full-time before the end of the year. Candidates must be fluent in Spanish, have a stable work history, reliable, able to work as a team, dedicated, warm personality, responsible, innovative, and energetic when working with children ages 9 months to 4 years. Compensation: $16.50 per hour or dependent on experience.

Important Qualities: • Ability to play with children on the floor, lift them, and be physically active • Outgoing personality, excellent communication skills • Enthusiasm and genuine interest in engaging children's attention • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a childcare setting • CPR/AED certification is a plus; must pass NYS background check. Assistant performs other related duties as needed: • Work with the teacher to create and implement a daily lesson plan • Use sound judgment to act in the best interest of children at all times • Maintain a classroom environment that actively promotes learning • Maintain a daily routine in the classroom, including distribution and collection of materials, keeping attendance records, preparing food, etc. • Attend mandatory trainings and meetings • Adhere to our rules and procedures
 • Assist with feeding children during breakfast, lunch, and snack, assist with toilet training/diaper changes, daily program cleaning, and keep the program area organized. ***** Punctuality and excellent attendance is extremely important *****
