Who We Are Seeking: We are looking for a dedicated and flexible individual to support classroom instruction and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will assist the lead teacher with lesson delivery, classroom management, and student engagement. Responsibilities include working one-on-one with students needing additional or modified instruction, administering and grading assessments, and performing clerical tasks such as preparing communication folders. This person will also help supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, lunchtime, and other school activities. Additional duties include assisting with student drop-off and pickup, occasionally serving as a substitute teacher, and actively participating in Ahtna language learning and cultural activities. A commitment to supporting student success and contributing positively to the school environment is essential. Qualifications, Education & Experience: • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or two years of college highly preferred. • Must be willing to successfully complete Teacher Assistant training through the school. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Thorough understanding of classroom procedures and management. • Ability to relate to children and reinforce lessons taught in class. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to collaborate with lead teacher. • Strong supervisory and leadership skills. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Certificates and Licenses: A valid Alaska Driver’s license and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position. Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
