Description

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will take on a variety of responsibilities including proposal preparation, technical review of reports, field oversight, and client interaction. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong technical foundation who also enjoys mentoring, developing solutions to complex geotechnical challenges, and managing high-value projects from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Technical Work Conduct and oversee geotechnical evaluations, field explorations, and sample collections Perform advanced engineering analyses and calculations, including PVR calculations Apply expertise in subsurface design, deep foundation systems, slope stability, and ground improvement methods Utilize engineering software tools such as Geostudio, SLIDE, and VOLFLOW for project analysis Prepare and review proposals and technical reports for projects of varying size and complexity Leadership & Mentorship Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians, and support staff Promote a collaborative and safety-focused work environment Share technical expertise to strengthen team capabilities Client & Project Management Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality deliverables Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring technical accuracy and budget adherence Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and industry events Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas (required) Minimum 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably with projects in Texas Strong background in deep foundation and ground improvement systems Excellent communication, technical writing, and organizational skills TxDOT project experience preferred, but not required Benefits 401(k) (Matching Program) Health insurance Dental insurance (Free to Employees) Vision insurance (Free to Employees) Disability insurance (Free to Employees) Life insurance (Basic Term Life Free to Employees) Paid Time Off (PTO) Professional Development Assistance Employee Referral Bonus Tuition Reimbursement

The ideal candidate will bring experience in multiple database, analytics, and cloud technologies. Relevant experience for this role includes data engineering, data pipeline development, advanced data analytics, and debugging technical issues. We are looking for a flexible data analytics engineer with experience developing ETL pipelines optimized for performance and cost. A successful Data Analytics Engineer will also have an understanding of statistical analysis and Machine Learning. We prefer candidates unafraid to tackle new technologies and stretch their competencies to areas of development they may not have encountered before. Responsibilities: Collaborate & contribute to the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data & analytics platforms, system integrations, data pipelines, data models & API integrations. Deliver high-quality data assets to be used by the management team and customers to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. Ensure that data are optimally standardized and analysis-ready. Continuously improve data solutions to increase quality, speed of delivery, and trust in the data engineering team’s deliverables to enable business outcomes. Reduce the total cost of ownership of solutions by developing shared components and implementing best practices and coding standards. Location: Onsite - Washington, DC Salary Range: $160,000-170,000. Factors influencing pay within this range include geography, market demand, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Requirements 5 to 7+ years of professional experience in data analytics, data engineering, or related roles. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Strong understanding of data lake and data warehousing architectures in a cloud-based environment. Expertise in implementing cloud storage, database, and analytics services like Amazon S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and SageMaker Proficiency in designing and building flexible and scalable ETL processes and data pipelines using AWS services and SQL. Ability to design custom ETL processes for multiple data feeds in multiple formats to include file drop, REST feeds, messaging feeds, and direct database ingest. Proficiency in data pipeline automation and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions. Strong proficiency in SQL and GraphQL for data querying and manipulation Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and scripting Knowledge of data quality management and data governance principles. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to data management challenges. Experience with Tableau or similar capability Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with business and technical teams. Preferred Skills Familiarity with advanced SQL techniques for performance optimization and data analysis. Familiarity with serverless computing and event-driven architectures in AWS. Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments and using related tools for collaboration and version control. Extensive knowledge of software and data engineering best practices. Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders Experience establishing, implementing, and documenting best practices, standard operating procedures, etc. Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Experience with the Intelligence Community (IC) Clearance: Must have Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and willing/able to pass CI polygraph.
