Work primarily involves performing preventive maintenance, including fluid and filter changes, battery servicing, maintenance and inspection of ancillary equipment. Work may include inspecting equipment, diagnosing and repair of malfunctions to the generator’s mechanical equipment and systems. Work may involve disassembly of components to perform repairs using hand tools. The Entry Level Diesel Generator Mechanic responsibilities include performing routine preventive maintenance, replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock, ordering replacement parts from OEM Distributors or sourcing from local vendors. The mechanic will also be required to provide written reports documenting maintenance performed and actions taken. Additional duties also include preparing written scope and estimates for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops, reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation. *Position will require travel by plane/helicopter/boat to San Nicolas Island for 1-3 days to complete all scheduled maintenance Salary $32.20 plus an additional $4.93 per hour fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401K!
