As a Building Automation Service Specialist, you will be responsible for repairing, configuring, and maintaining building automation systems (BAS) that control HVAC, lighting, and other critical building functions. Your key duties will include system monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance for energy efficiency. The role also involves conducting routine maintenance, performing repairs, providing technical support to clients, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, you will stay up to date with industry advancements and provide training to building staff on system operations. Top deliverables in the first year to be a hero: Efficiently Complete service calls and preventative maintenance on existing controls systems. Maintain knowledge of all aspects of HVAC including design, production, refrigeration, controls and service. Consult with customers regarding problems or issues discovered while servicing their building automation system and provide them with a record of services performed. Promote, maintain and enhance new and existing customer relationships. The Building Automation Service Specialists role reports to Chris Diehl, the Portland Area Controls Operations Manager. You will be part of a collaborative team, working on various projects and initiatives to support our growing business. This position interacts with all levels and functions within the organization. Your Background: What kind of person will thrive in this role? You should have… A track record of understanding of air-conditioning principles, systems and commercial HVAC mechanical equipment. Expertise in job site safety requirements, i.e. WISHA/OSHA, OROSHA/OSHA, and be committed to safety. A two-year degree or other education or experience by which a reasonable understanding of HVAC and control systems with an emphasis on direct digital control systems has been gained. Experience in any of the following platforms.
