Phasor’s Geomatics division is seeking Survey Assistants for long-term opportunities in Canada and the United States for work on larger scale construction projects. We are seeking a talented Survey CAD Technician to join a leading land surveying team in Austin, TX with additional locations in Houston, Denver and Charlotte. Your role will be pivotal in supporting our clients' surveying projects, and your responsibilities will encompass: Collaborating with Registered Professional Surveyors to assist in CAD productions, encompassing activities like deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and the calculation of survey points. Skillfully processing raw field data using Trimble Business Center, ensuring data quality through rigorous QA/QC checks. Coordinating and fostering effective teamwork between field crews and office personnel to streamline project workflows and success. Requirements A track record of 1-5 years in a Survey Technician role within the field of land surveying. A preference for or active pursuit of an SIT (Surveyor-in-Training) registration. Expertise in ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, easement document preparation, legal descriptions, and final plat preparation. Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of survey field equipment. A strong grasp of Trimble Business Center and Trimble Data Center for precise data processing and analysis. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate complex projects, and collaborate effectively with other design services. Full utilization of Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting. Adaptability and the capability to excel in a fast-paced environment, particularly during periods of growth. Outstanding listening, writing, and verbal communication skills to foster effective interactions with both team members and clients. This hands-on role involves working outdoors, collecting underground utility data, and utilizing Trimble RTK/GPS and underground utility locating equipment. The Utility Locator will be responsible for reading utility maps, providing sketches of work performed, and ensuring all survey tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. The Utility Locator plays a crucial role in ensuring that underground utilities are accurately identified and marked prior to excavation activities. This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety. Responsibilities: Perform field surveys to locate and mark underground utilities using specialized equipment. 2 years of experience in underground utilities including telecom, electric, cable, gas, fiber optic, water, and sewer. Interpret and analyze utility maps and plans to accurately assess locations. Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and team members regarding utility locations and any potential conflicts. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while on-site. Document and report all findings and discrepancies accurately in a timely manner.
