We are seeking a Graduate Surveyor to join our team! This position will assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computations, and adherence to specific state statutes. This position will work under the responsible charge of a Professional Land Surveyor. Responsibilities: • Assists Project Surveyors and Project Leads with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computations, adherence to specific state statutes, and other survey-related responsibilities. • Works with the Professional Land Surveyor to define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements. • Works with Professional Land Surveyors to evaluate property boundaries in metes and bounds and public land survey states. • Travels occasionally for courthouse research and field crew support. • Coordinates with field crews and office staff. • Performs self and peer review QA/QC checks. • Stays current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment. • Ensures division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service. • Leads by example – displays solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism. • Provides day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff as needed. • Handles multiple priorities and projects well. • Consistently exercises independent judgment and demonstrates critical thinking skills. Hydrovac Excavation is a non-destructive method of excavating as an alternative to mechanical equipment or hand-digging. Hydrovacs use pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, precisely and cleanly excavate around utilities, pipelines and numerous other applications. MUST HAVE A MINIMUM CLASS “B” CDL LICENSE WITH TANKER ENDORSEMENT and CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. Key Responsibilities Seventy percent or more of the job’s work time is spent operating the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck performing non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables. Other Hydrovac work consists of cleaning and vacuuming, mobilization of equipment, truck maintenance, safety meetings, etc. Heavy lifting at times is required. Working at heights are sometimes required The job requires typical construction type hours with some weeks being less than 40 hours and other weeks very busy requiring 50 plus hours. The Superintendent is responsible for directly overseeing all phases of construction at the project site to ensure successful completion within the required budget and schedule and with excellent quality. Purchases miscellaneous jobsite materials and rough hardware and supplies as authorized by the Project Manager. Ensures that no extra work or deviations from the contract documents are made without proper authorization from the Project Manager. Promptly brings Client and Architect requests for changes to the attention of the Project Manager for schedule and cost implication discussions. Meets with client representatives, as appropriate, to discuss the status of the project and review and identify areas of question. Works in conjunction with Project Management staff to relay information to the client. Skills & Competencies: Excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities. Must have construction background and training. Physical Requirements: Position spends 80% of the time on an active construction site.
